Title: Word Getting Out About Fisk Building
Date:
June 30, 2004

Propelled by improvements in the building and the neighborhood, 250 West 57th Street leased over 50,000 s/f in the first quarter of the year.

Of this, approximately 32,000 s/f was new leases and the balance of 18,000 s/f was renewals, reports Barry Zeller, senior director, Cushman & Wakefield, the building's managing and leasing agent.

New tenants that signed leases in the first quarter include Environ Press, Inc., Music Law Group, Dabar Management Co., Hartz & Co., and NIP. Renewals, meanwhile, were signed by Will Jordan, Baron & Baron, Jack Poust & Co., September Music Group and Baker Products.

"These statistics show that we're achieving our objective of attracting new tenants with good credit while retaining existing ones," says Mr. Zeller.

"The word is getting out that this is a good place for business. Our tenants are enjoying the results of our extensive renovations, the high standards of maintenance, and the central location."

"It's a happening building," notes Chuck Rubin, president and founder of the Artists Rights Enforcement Corporation, a firm that recently relocated from the fifth floor to the seventh floor.

A $30 million capital improvement program was recently concluded at the building. Renovations included new windows, elevator cabs, upgraded building systems, refurbished public corridors, and a new lobby and subway entrance. Developments in the Columbus Circle area are transforming it into a magnet for media and entertainment companies.

The area is home to the world headquarters for Time Warner, Random House and Hearst Corporation.

Constructed in 1921 to house the offices of the Fisk Tire and Rubber Company, 250 West 57th today is home to many of the city's key players in the arts and entertainment industry.

Space availability at 250 West 57th Street ranges from 750 rentable square feet to 16,000 rentable square feet, with many spaces available for immediate occupancy. Part of the W&H Properties portfolio, 250 West 57th Street is owned by Fisk Building Associates LLC, a partnership led by Peter L. Malkin.
