Social media is all the rage today, with everyone talking about sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and more. While the communications value of them is great, few companies have managed to capitalize on their business potential. This is what Astoria Communications can help you do.
Cyrus Afzali has been involved in social communities dating back to CompuServe's forums in the 1980s. In fact, I secured my job at Turner Broadcasting's CNN Financial News through my participation in CompuServe's journalism forum.
I've been advising my clients for years on the power of clear and concise written communications in their traditional marketing materials. The primary focus of my social media practice is on using it to increase revenue as well as brand awareness. Social media has its own style as well, and companies wanting to capitalize on it must make sure they adhere to that style. Companies that benefit the most from social media are the ones that truly understand the concept of a conversation and avoid a self-serving approach. I have designed a multi-faceted curriculum based around capitalizing on the potential of social media and regularly consult with firms in the areas of financial and professional services, public relations/marketing and other types of small to mid-sized businesses. I conduct training sessions teaching executives and employees on how to make better use of social media and will also execute programs for companies desiring a “one-stop” solution consisting of both traditional public relations and social media communications.
